We’ve been in conversation with the town for a number of years now, listening to the many great ideas and ambitions for creating a central hub for the community. Much of what has emerged centres on the HUB, a new multipurpose space designed to accommodate up to eight groups at any one time, with flexible hire options, a welcoming café, and a dedicated Heritage Centre.
These discussions have also opened up important conversations about the surrounding area, particularly concerns about cars crossing the pavement to access the Tennis Club car park, the lack of a safe drop-off point for both the existing Community Centre and tennis facilities, and inadequate lighting.
This proposal addresses all of those issues:
- A new access junction to improve pedestrian safety
- A designated drop-off area to allow safe arrivals and departures
- Modern LED lighting to significantly enhance visibility and security for everyone
